Reflection

Life works in magical ways. My education odyssey started with a lot of confusion about what I wanted to do with my life. I felt embarrassed that for so long I had a misunderstanding of what my true skills were. This is when I decided to indulge in the best experience of my life and bought my first flight to Europe to backpack with some friends. It was then when I found my true colors.

I am the happiest when I am submerged in different cultures and relating to people from different backgrounds. It is relevant for me to really understand different perspectives and ways of doing things. I found wisdom in many corners of the world and became myself by understanding others. After this experience, I made the decision to study abroad in Tianjin, China after changing my major from Marketing to International Relations. It was here where I found that my calling was to encourage other students to travel and broader their academic journey in a different culture. I fell in love with Global Learning and International Education. I was also going through a spiritual journey that went hand in hand with my professional life. I knew then that I wanted to work with the core of human development; Education.  Florida International University along with the many programs that were presented to me, built me to achieve my goals. The Global Learning Medalion Program helped me see all the international opportunities FIU offers and the many events that encourage students to learn beyond their borders.
